The “unsteady chair’’ is a simple and ergonomic object when it is ON, i.e. during its use, a dynamic volume when it is OFF.
A chair that seems changing shape and perspective in reference to the place it occupies around the table. In fact, its design, which makes it “unsteady” (the chair is laterally sloped), is enhanced by the opposite inclination that the chairs take by facing those occupying the other side of the table.
Though the chair is always sloped on the same side, the inclination becomes twice strengthened by placing them one in front of another, hence creating movement.
A pure shape, which arises from the ground and that makes it both dynamic and static.
A chair which is composed by just two pieces: a curved veneered sheet of wood and a seat made of the same.
A chair easy to realize. The two pieces have a cross section of 4 cm. An intentionally simple section, always constant, a pure and strong section that contrasts to its dynamism.
A laterally sloped chair, a chair which is always different, a chair which is alive … that seems to move in the space. A funny chair … that turns on a smile for any child’s curiosity.
“Designing an object means issuing a challenge.”
“Winning the gravity force is impossible, but trying to fight it, is always a emotion.”
